Our verdict

9/10

  • Difficulty: Medium
  • Players: 1
  • Playtime: 30–50 h

Ace Attorney Investigations Collection bundles both Ace Attorney Investigations games, starring prosecutor Miles Edgeworth. Instead of courtroom battles you walk crime scenes, gather evidence and corner witnesses on location, using Logic to connect facts in Edgeworth's head. The second game was previously only released in Japan, and this is its first official English version. It suits solo players who know the main Ace Attorney games.

Steam reviews are very positive (about 98% of 1,006). Fans who waited 13 years for the official sequel release are thrilled, and players praise the new HD art and animations, the soundtrack and Edgeworth as a lead. The Logic mechanic gets mentions as something new for the series.

There are hardly any complaints in the reviews. It is long, with reviewers logging 30 to 60 hours across both games, and it assumes you know the main trilogy's characters. Buy it if you enjoyed Phoenix Wright; newcomers should start with the original trilogy.

Pros

  • Both Investigations games, the second officially in English for the first time
  • Logic mechanic links facts during on-site investigations
  • Refreshed HD art and animations

Cons

  • Assumes you know the main Ace Attorney trilogy
  • Long cases with lots of reading
