Class Escape is a first-person puzzle game from OneMac in which you are a student locked inside your school by an instructor who has built a gauntlet of tests. There are five rooms, from an ordinary classroom to a lab and a theatre, and you need to clear each one to reach the next. It suits solo players who enjoy number and pattern puzzles with a slightly sinister framing.
Players rate it Very Positive, with 98 of 103 reviews in favour. Puzzles revolve around spotting patterns, working out numeric solutions and connecting separate clues, and they get harder as you move through each room. The instructor's running commentary, which needles you about your performance, gives the game its psychological edge, and tags such as thriller and psychological horror suggest players find it more tense than a typical classroom setting implies.
The review sample here holds little written detail, so this verdict leans on the strong ratio and tag votes. With five rooms and a median of about three and a half hours for positive reviewers, it is a modest one- or two-evening game. Worth a look for logic-puzzle fans at its low price; skip it if you want co-op or a heavy story.
Pros
- Five themed rooms, from classroom to lab to theatre
- Pattern and number puzzles ramp up within each room
- Taunting instructor adds pressure and personality
Cons
- Single-player only
- Short, with little reason to replay once solved
About
Do you believe yourself worthy enough to beat the instructor's game? In this first-person puzzle game, you, the entrapped student in your school are allowed a chance to escape the building through a series of puzzles wittingly designed by a school faculty. Not only are they designed to bring out of you the most intense brain activity, you are constantly tested on your patience and willingness to exceed expectations.
Class Escape is a puzzle game with five different rooms to discover and solve. Only by solving one room can you enter the next room. You will be going from the normal classroom to the lab to the theater. There are multiple puzzles in each room and their difficulty increases with each succeeding puzzle you solve.
All the while, you will be constantly reminded by the instructor that you must be doing better than what you are. Can you handle the pressure? Work under a judgmental instructor that's watching every move you're making.
The types of puzzles range from finding patterns, to manipulating numbers to find the correct solution, and connecting different ideas together to reach the correct answer.
