Escape Room: The Sorcerer's Curse is a small first-person escape room set in a sorcerer's house. You play a villager sent in to lift a curse on the town of Inglesfear, picking up and inspecting items in 3D and solving puzzles the developers made for this game. Its hint system targets the current puzzle and can even solve it for you, so nobody stays stuck. It suits solo players wanting a cheap, short fantasy escape room.
The player base is tiny: 7 of 10 Steam reviews are positive. SteamSpy tags lean on exploration, logic, puzzle and hidden object. The one written review says there are many puzzles, that it is not very easy, and that the puzzles feel fair.
With so little feedback it is hard to judge polish or pacing, and three of ten reviewers did not recommend it. Positive reviewers played for around two hours. At under a dollar the risk is low: try it if you want a quick medieval puzzle room with a safety net; skip it if you want a polished, story-driven escape game.
Pros
- Hint system covers only the current puzzle and can solve it
- Bespoke puzzles in a cursed sorcerer's house
- Costs under a dollar
Cons
- Very few reviews, so quality is hard to judge
- Short single room for one player
