Gravitas

Gravitas is a free, short first-person puzzle platformer made by a 14-person student team at Galaxy Shark Studios. You explore the Gallery of Refined Gravity, flipping gravity and moving cubes through increasingly deadly exhibits while an eccentric Curator comments on every move. It is not a classic escape room, but suits anyone who enjoyed Portal and wants an hour of physics puzzles with jokes.

Players love it: about 98 percent of nearly 4,000 Steam reviews are positive. Reviewers compare it to Portal and The Stanley Parable, praise the fun puzzle design, and call the Curator's dialogue genuinely funny, though one found the writing a bit much. Most are surprised a free game feels this complete.

The limits are about scope. Most players finish in about an hour, and one reviewer found the controls a little jankier than in the games it borrows from. Players tag it for platforming and parkour, so expect some jumping alongside the thinking. Because it costs nothing, there is no reason not to try it; just do not expect a long adventure or the clue-hunting of a traditional escape room.
