Silly Suspects is an Early Access comedy detective game. Each case drops you into an absurd crime scene in a messy town full of strange people; you question a lineup of eccentric suspects, play mini-games to win their trust, learn their quirks and cross them off one by one, Guess Who style, until only the culprit is left. Cases are generated, so no two are the same. It suits solo players after a light, silly deduction game.
With 15 Steam reviews, 12 positive, the evidence is thin. Fans enjoy the weird characters, the silly walks and pets, and the fact that you still have to pay attention to clues and personalities. Several call it a good concept that is fun when it works.
The negative reviews all point to bugs: suspects who speak gibberish, characters marked for questioning who have nothing to say, and cases that cannot be completed. Review playtimes are short, around one to three hours. It is cheap and promising, but in its current Early Access state it is wiser to wait for fixes.
Pros
- Guess Who style elimination of eccentric suspects
- Generated cases mean each run is different
- Absurd humour and odd characters
Cons
- Early Access bugs can make cases impossible to finish
- Suspects sometimes have nothing useful to say
- Only 15 reviews so far
