Take Notes is a first-person escape-room puzzler from Stoneware Game Studio, set in an underground research bunker. The staff of the Fusion Energetics facility have vanished and their experimental reactor is going unstable, so you work through 40 security puzzles on your way to the control panel. It suits solo players who want a cheap, compact puzzle run with a notepad nearby.
On Steam it holds a Very Positive rating, with 58 of 60 reviews in favour, and players tag it most strongly as escape room, puzzle, logic and exploration. Only three written reviews exist. All recommend it, describing classic logic puzzles that are mostly not too hard, where you need to keep your eyes open for clues in the rooms.
The one longer review is lukewarm on the story, calling it thin, and notes that some puzzles, such as a Simon Says panel, make little sense in a nuclear facility. That player finished in just under two hours, with only one or two harder puzzles near the end. At its low price it is a fair pick for a quick evening of room puzzles; skip it if you want a strong story or a stiff challenge.
Pros
- 40 distinct logic puzzles across a sealed research bunker
- Clues hidden in the rooms reward close observation
- Very low price for a tidy evening of puzzles
Cons
- Thin story that one reviewer says might as well not exist
- Some puzzles feel out of place in the facility setting
- Short, at around two hours
