The Case of the Worst Day Ever is a cartoony deduction game in the style of Case of the Golden Idol. A family is gathered for a celebration and everyone, including the pets, looks miserable; each case asks you to examine a scene, work out who is who and explain what went wrong by filling in the blanks. It suits solo players who finished the Golden Idol games and want more.
Steam reviews are very positive (60 of 67). Players warn that the cute art hides punishing puzzles: the later cases are compared to the hardest Golden Idol scenarios, with lots of elimination logic, red herrings and satisfying aha moments. Several also enjoy that it was made by a small husband and wife team.
