The Talos Principle: Reawakened is Croteam's Unreal Engine 5 remake of its 2014 first-person puzzle classic. It bundles the base game, the Road to Gehenna expansion and a new prologue chapter, In the Beginning, plus a puzzle editor and Workshop support. You solve self-contained logic puzzles across simulated worlds while terminals raise questions about AI, consciousness and free will. It suits solo players who want a long, thoughtful puzzle campaign.
Players who come for the puzzles stay for them: reviewers call the logic fair, the learning curve well paced and the optional star puzzles fiendish. New quality-of-life touches get credit, especially rewinding after a mistake, pausable recordings and developer commentary. The writing, delivered through text logs, wins over even players who say they normally dislike puzzle games.
The big caveat is performance. A recurring complaint is crashes, lost progress and blurry upscaling on mid-range PCs, Steam Deck and cloud streaming, and several fans say the original still looks and runs better on weaker hardware.
