TIMESCAPE: Altitude is a VR-only escape room set on a plane with no pilots. A rival has chained you to a seat among some cargo, and you must solve your way out and jump before the aircraft goes down. The puzzles lean on observation, listening, logic and physical handling, the hints sit inside the scene and track your progress, and five difficulty levels let you tune the challenge. Room-scale play is the intended setup.
Only seven Steam reviews exist, and six are positive. Fans call the puzzles varied and grounded in real-world logic, enjoy the urgency of a falling plane, and mention locks to pick and a snake in a box. One player says the developer fixed reported glitches the same day.
Difficulty is the big caveat. One reviewer called it the hardest escape room they had played and gave up after two hours, while another found level 3 just right. The visuals are basic, and one reviewer found movement and object handling clunky. Expect three to six hours depending on difficulty. VR owners who like stiff challenges should try it; casual players should start on a low setting.
Pros
- Pilotless falling plane gives a real reason to hurry
- Five difficulty levels and progress-aware in-world hints
- Partly non-linear, so you can switch puzzles when stuck
Cons
- Very hard at higher settings, with some opaque solutions
- Basic visuals and reports of clunky interaction
- VR only, with very few reviews so far
About
One of a series of planned Escape rooms in different, unique, locations and situations. The game focuses on Observation, listening, logic, cunning, and physical puzzles. Keeping you immersed, the puzzles logically fit with the situation, and don’t force a mini game where it would not belong.
Story You have interfered with the plans of a rival who has left you to die on a plane, along with some expendable cargo. The pilots are gone, and the plane is flying itself. How long the plane will last in the air, is a guess. Best to get out, as quickly as possible.
