VR2: Vacate 2 Rooms is a room-scale VR escape game and the sequel to VR: Vacate the Room. There is no teleporting: you walk through each room for real, and a rotating elevator turns you around to join several areas into one large space, including an underground mine with a rail ride. It needs a VR headset and a play area of roughly 2.1 by 1.6 metres, and suits VR owners who want a hands-on puzzle room.
About three quarters of the 23 reviews are positive. Players praise the immersion of physically walking around and the elevator trick, and call the puzzles solid, ranging from easy to fairly tough with lots of hidden items. A secret second ending gives some a reason to replay. Several say it improves on the first game.
The recurring complaints are pacing and comfort. The opening sequence and the slow, spinning elevator annoyed several players, and some felt motion sick in it. Graphics are plain, and a few found it short and too easy, with one citing a possibly broken final puzzle. Expect one to two hours. Worth it on sale for VR escape fans with enough space; skip it if you get motion sick easily.
Pros
- No teleporting; you physically walk every room
- Rotating elevator makes a small play space feel large
- Hidden-item puzzles plus a secret second ending
Cons
- Slow opening and slow, spinning elevator
- Elevator rotation made some players motion sick
- Needs a full room-scale setup; plain graphics
- Short, at one to two hours
