Last Will is a first-person reverse escape room: your eccentric grandfather has left you his fortune, but you have to break into the heart of his mansion to claim it. The game is split into four acts, each drawing from a pool of rooms and puzzle types, so layouts and solutions shift between runs. You can play solo or online with up to four players, with a countdown mode or untimed free play. It suits friend groups looking for a replayable co-op puzzle night.
Players who stuck with it praise the puzzle variety and the mildly spooky mansion, and several say it shines in co-op, where different puzzles suit different people. The randomised rooms get credit for adding replay value, something most escape games lack. Opinions on fairness are split: some found puzzles mostly easy, others had to brute force or look things up, and a few disliked running back and forth between clues across large rooms.
Bugs are the biggest problem. Reviewers report broken saves, items vanishing, clipping through floors and co-op lag. Expect four to six hours for a first run. Worth a look on sale for a co-op group that can finish in one sitting; solo players wanting a polished experience should look elsewhere.
Pros
- Randomised rooms and puzzles give it rare replay value
- Online co-op for up to four suits mixed-skill groups
- Choice of timed escape mode or relaxed free play
Cons
- Save bugs and vanishing items can wreck a run
- Large rooms mean lots of running between clues and puzzles
- Co-op sessions can suffer from lag and glitches
