Quest Rooms is a one-person project inspired by the films Cube and Escape Room. You wake up in a dark room and a voice on a TV tells you it is all a game, then you work through a large map of deadly rooms that mix riddles with traps. It plays solo or online co-op and suits groups who want a trap-filled survival run rather than a calm puzzle room.
About three quarters of its 32 Steam reviews are positive, and it is tagged as action, co-op and difficult as much as puzzle. One long review praises the dark, survival-leaning mood and the satisfaction when a room's logic clicks, but notes that weak feedback can leave you guessing.
The detailed negative review describes obstacles that behave inconsistently, poor sync for non-host players, swinging axes and collapsing floors, and checkpoints far behind the hazard, with a limited pool of 30 lives. Consider it if your group likes punishing obstacle runs and can forgive rough edges; puzzle fans looking for a classic escape room should skip it.
Pros
- Cube-style chain of deadly rooms with a tense mood
- Mixes riddles with trap and obstacle survival
- Playable solo or in online co-op
Cons
- Traps reportedly hit inconsistently and desync for non-hosts
- Checkpoints set far back after deaths
- More obstacle course than pure escape room
