- Difficulty: Medium

- Playtime: 2–4 h
Abode 2 is a VR-only escape room from Overflow, set in a single high-tech apartment in a dystopian city. Your job is to search every drawer, device and panel to get the power back on. It suits VR owners who like one dense room to pick apart at their own pace rather than a string of short levels.
Reception is mostly positive: about 80 percent of 123 Steam reviews recommend it, and players tag it first as an atmospheric sci-fi adventure. The one detailed review we found rates the puzzles as moderate, neither tedious nor punishing, with clue chains that follow a clear logic.
The same reviewer reports rough edges: grabs that sometimes fail to register, and items that move around after loading a save. With so few written reviews it is hard to say how common these bugs are. At its full price it is a fair buy for VR puzzle fans who like a sci-fi setting; on sale it is an easier call. Skip it if you have no headset, because there is no flat-screen mode.
Pros
- Whole apartment is interactive, so every surface can hide a clue
- Cyberpunk-style city setting gives the room a distinct look
- Moderate puzzles with logical links between clues
Cons
- Reports of unresponsive grabs and items moving after a reload
- VR-only and single-player
- Few written reviews to judge long-term polish

Technology has gone fast in the past 3 years, which you can clearly see in this second game. Better visuals, more cool features and overall a better experience. This game in the Escape Room/Puzzle genre is still equally amazing as the first Abode game. The interactivity has increased a lot, making for a much better VR experience. You're still, as the title explains, in an apartment that's as dark and gloomy as the first one. But now with much more stunning visuals, and equally entertaining and sometimes difficult puzzles to take on and resolve. Oh, and did I tell you about the robot companion?Features
