We Were Here Expeditions: The FriendShip is a bite-sized, standalone co-op puzzle game from Total Mayhem Games, makers of the We Were Here series. Two friends answer a distress call, land on a deserted island and ride a strange boat attraction through an abandoned amusement park. Each puzzle splits information between you, so you have to talk it through over in-game walkie-talkies. It is strictly two-player online, with crossplay, and suits pairs of friends or newcomers wanting a taste of the series.
Players rate it Very Positive, with about 91 percent of over 5,700 reviews in favour. Reviewers describe it as cute, well optimised and great fun with the right partner, and like the medal grading that rewards cleaner runs and gives fans a reason to replay for a perfect score. Many joke that it tests the friendship as much as their brains.
The most common complaint is length: several pairs finished in well under an hour and most within two. One player found replaying for golden tickets tedious because puzzles lack mid-way checkpoints, and a few found the communication more frustrating than fun. At its very low price it is an easy pick for a co-op evening; solo players cannot play it at all.
