We Were Here Forever is the fourth game in Total Mayhem's co-op puzzle series. Two prisoners wake up in Castle Rock in the Antarctic and must escape the dungeons, royal halls, a graveyard and a flooded foundry. The players are usually split up, each seeing half of every puzzle, and must describe what they see over a walkie-talkie. It is online co-op only, for exactly two, and suits a patient duo with a free weekend.
Around 93% of almost 7,000 Steam reviews are positive. Series fans often call it the best entry, with varied, genuinely hard puzzles, strong visuals and a story tied to the earlier games. Most pairs finish in 10 to 16 hours; reviewers advise describing everything in detail and keeping pen and paper close.
The recurring complaints are technical: random disconnects, broken audio, missing puzzle pieces and soft-locks force restarts for some pairs. A few puzzles, notably a sound-matching one, felt unfair, some repeat in the first half, and the hint system is thin. If you have a reliable partner and enjoy talking puzzles through, buy it; expect some frustration along the way.
