We Were Here Too is a two-player online co-op puzzle game in the We Were Here series. You and a partner are trapped in separate parts of a medieval castle and can only talk over walkie-talkies, so each puzzle depends on describing what you see to someone who sees something else. Both players need a microphone. It suits pairs of friends who enjoy shouting instructions at each other.
Reception is Mostly Positive, with about 77% of nearly 4,800 reviews recommending it. Players enjoy the communication challenge, and some fans of the series felt the puzzles were more satisfying than in the free first game. Several noted it is less scary than its horror tag suggests.
The complaints are loud and consistent. Many single out a timed maze puzzle with tight inputs, others call some puzzles unclear or poorly tested, such as the cog symbols, and several report fiddly controls. A number of pairs suffered frequent disconnects that wiped progress. Expect three to four hours. Buy it on sale if you liked the first game and have a patient partner; skip it if you want relaxed co-op puzzling.
Pros
- Walkie-talkie setup forces real teamwork between two players
- Split views of a medieval castle make every puzzle a conversation
- Multiple endings reward a second run
Cons
- Timed maze puzzle with tight inputs frustrates many pairs
- Reports of frequent disconnects that lose progress
- Short for the price, and both players need a microphone
