Escape2088 is a single-player point-and-click escape room from OnSkull Games, set in a dark cyberpunk future. Unlike the studio's other escape rooms, you do not walk around: you stay in a fixed position and turn the camera across three chapters of keypads, gadgets and hidden clues, with an optional timer. It suits players who want a cheap, short sci-fi puzzle and do not mind obscure solutions.
Most players came away disappointed: only 14 of 39 Steam reviews are positive. The first chapter draws the most criticism, with several reviewers stuck on number clues that lead nowhere logical and many reaching for a walkthrough. Others report fiddly drag-and-drop, items that only work if placed on an exact spot, and a final chapter too dark to see. Fans of OnSkull's other games miss free movement and co-op. The positive reviews praise the neon lighting, the moody setting and puzzles they found tough but fair.
Most players finish in under two hours, some in half an hour. Even at a low price, the illogical opening makes it hard to recommend. OnSkull fans and co-op groups are better served by the studio's other escape rooms; only pick this up deeply discounted.
Pros
- Moody neon lighting and a strong cyberpunk look

- Optional timer for players who want pressure
Cons
- First chapter's number clues widely called illogical
- Fussy drag-and-drop and a final chapter too dark to read
- No free movement or co-op, unlike OnSkull's other games
