Curious Cases is a three-chapter detective escape game from OnSkull Games. You play Detective Thomas Moore, looking into a scientist who vanished from a locked office. It runs in VR or on a regular desktop, and supports up to six players either as one team or racing each other in a Versus mode.
Steam reception is mixed, with roughly 63 percent of 171 reviews positive. Players tag it as an investigation and mystery game with a light psychological horror edge, and many vote it casual, which points to puzzles that most groups can get through without a guide. Chapters unlock in order, and you can jump back into any unlocked one. The one written review we found enjoyed it but wanted more of it.
The main draw is flexibility: few escape games let a mixed group of VR and desktop players tackle the same case or compete on it. The flip side is size, with three chapters that most players finish in a few hours. Pick it up on sale for a group night or a short solo case; skip it if you want a long, polished detective story.
Pros
- Up to six players can co-op or race each other in Versus mode
- Plays in VR or on desktop with mouse, keyboard or gamepad
- Locked-office disappearance gives the puzzles a clear case to crack
Cons
- Only three chapters, so it is over in a few hours
- Mixed Steam reception, with about a third of reviews negative

Our Review
Curious Cases is another cracker from OnSkull Games. Especially if you're interested in escaping with your friends online, this is just the game for you. It follows similar mechanisms as the other OnSkull games. However, with the eerie rooms in a dark setting, it definitely stands as it's own.
